as Hurricane Milton made landfall near Siesta Key with a category 3 storm with sustained winds of 120 mph last night at 8:30 p.m. 

The hurricane has caused extensive damage and destroyed over 125 homes with thousands of families having to evacuate their homes and relocate to safer accommodations. 


Currently, the Tampa Bay area is experiencing heavy rainfall, with 16 inches of rain falling in St. Petersburg. The hurricane is located about 45 miles west-southwest of Cape Canaveral and has weakened to a category 1 storm, though it continues to cause damage.
